The Ghana Gospel Music Awards 2013 was held on Saturday 5th October, 2013 at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra. The event saw some of Ghana’s finest gospel artistes being rewarded for their hard work and dedication to their ministry.
Introduction
The Ghana Gospel Music Awards are an annual awards event that recognizes, promotes and celebrates the achievements of Ghanaian Gospel artists. The Awards were created in 2010 by Minister Michael Ntumy, and are now in their fourth year.
The 2013 Awards ceremony was held on Saturday, November 9th at the Accra International Conference Centre. The event was hosted by radio personality Nii Ayi Tagoe, and featured performances by some of Ghana’s top Gospel artists, including Joyce Blessing, James Kirby, Diana Hamilton and Diana Asamoah.
A total of 19 Awards were given out at the ceremony, in categories such as Best Male Vocalist, Best Female Vocalist, Best Songwriter and Best Album. James Kirby was the big winner of the night, taking home four Awards including Artist of the Year.
