With mainstream music festivals like Lollapalooza and Coachella expanding their lineups to include an increasing number of hip hop artists, it’s clear that hip hop is no longer an outsider genre. In fact, hip hop festivals have been around for almost two decades now, and they show no signs of slowing down. If anything, they’re only getting bigger and better.

This year will see the return of some of the biggest and best hip hop festivals in the country, including the likes of Rock the Bells, Made in America, and A3C. So if you’re a fan of hip hop, make sure you check out one (or all) of these great festivals.

The Top Hip Hop Festivals of 2015

There are a few Hip Hop Festivals that are definitely worth attending this year. The Top Hip Hop Festivals of 2015 include the A3C Festival in Atlanta, the Soundset Festival in Minneapolis, and the XXL Freshman Class Live in New York City.

A3C Festival

The A3C Festival is one of the premier hip hop music festivals in the United States. The festival takes place in Atlanta, Georgia and features some of the biggest names in hip hop. This year’s lineup includes Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Future, Wiz Khalifa, Meek Mill, Travis Scott, Big Sean, and many more.


SXSW (South by Southwest) is one of the most popular hip hop festivals of the year. It takes place in Austin, Texas and features a variety of artists from different genres. This year, some of the top hip hop artists performing at SXSW include Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Pusha T, and Nas.

The Roots Picnic

The Roots Picnic is an annual music festival put on by American hip hop band The Roots that takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in late May or early June. The picnic features a variety of musical performances by hip hop and R&B artists, as well as interactive games, food trucks, and other activities. The event has been held annually since 2008 and typically attracts a crowd of over 20,000 people.

Hip Hop Kemp

Hip Hop Kemp is a hip hop music festival that takes place in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. It is one of the biggest hip hop festivals in Europe and it has been held every year since 1998. Some of the most famous hip hop acts have performed at Hip Hop Kemp, including Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, and Wu-Tang Clan.

Rock the Bells

One of the largest and most well-known hip hop festivals in the world, Rock the Bells pulls in some of the biggest names in the genre every year. The 2015 lineup includes Wu-Tang Clan, Kid Cudi, Nas, Mos Def, and more. Taking place in San Bernardino, CA, this year’s festival is sure to be a can’t-miss event for hip hop fans.
