The Notorious B.I.G.

The Notorious B.I.G., also known as Biggie Smalls, was an American rapper who was murdered in a drive-by shooting in 1997. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Biggie began rapping at a young age. He first gained notoriety when he released his debut album, Ready to Die, in 1994. The album was a commercial and critical success, and made Biggie one of the most famous rappers in the world. Unfortunately, just two years later, Biggie was killed in a still-unsolved drive-by shooting. His murder sent shockwaves throughout the hip hop community and is still considered one of the most tragic events in music history.

Tupac Shakur

One of the most controversial and successful hip hop artists of all time, Tupac Shakur was a true icon. His music was influential in both the east coast/west coast rap beef and in the world of gangsta rap. His lyrics were often political and always thought-provoking, and his delivery was powerful and emotion-filled. Tupac was also a gifted actor, starring in films like Juice and Poetic Justice. He was tragically killed in 1996, but his legacy continues to live on through his music.

Jay-Z

Jay-Z is one of the most influential and successful rappers of all time. He has sold over 100 million albums and has won 21 Grammy Awards. He is also a successful businessman, with a clothing line, record label, and nightclub.

Eminem

Eminem is an American rapper, songwriter, and actor. He is one of the most successful musical artists of all time, with more than 172 million albums sold worldwide. He has been a controversial figure in the hip hop community, due to his often violent and misogynistic lyrics. In addition to his solo career, Eminem is a member of the rap duo Bad Meets Evil, with Royce da 5’9″. He is also one half of the hip hop duo D12, with Proof.

Eminem began his career in 1996 with the release of his debut album Infinite. He gained mainstream popularity with the release of his second album The Slim Shady LP in early 1999. The album peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart and was certified quadruple-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His next two releases, 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP and 2002’s The Eminem Show, were worldwide successes, with each being certified diamond in US sales. They were followed by Encore in 2004, another critical and commercial success.

After a period of drug addiction and recovery, Eminem released Relapse in 2009 and Recovery in 2010. These were followed by The Marshall Mathers LP 2 in 2013 and Revival in 2017. All seven of these albums topped the US Billboard 200 chart, making Eminem the only artist to have seven consecutive number-one albums on the chart. In addition to his solo work, Eminem is a member of D12 and (with Royce da 5’9″) half of Bad Meets Evil; he has also collaborated with several other artists throughout his career as a producer or featured artist.

Nas is one of the most respected hip hop artists of all time. He is known for his amazing storytelling ability, and his ability to captivate an audience. He has released some of the most successful and respected hip hop albums of all time, including Illmatic and It Was Written. Nas is also known for his social consciousness, and he has spoken out against various social issues throughout his career.

Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre is one of the most iconic and influential figures in hip hop history. As a producer, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent. He is also a successful solo artist, with hits like “Nothin’ But a G Thang” and “Still D.R.E.”

Born Andre Young in 1965, Dr. Dre grew up in Compton, California. He started his music career as a member of the rap group N.W.A., which gained notoriety for its brutal honesty about life in the inner city. After leaving the group, Dre launched his own record label, Death Row Records.

In 1996, Dre released his first solo album, The Chronic. The album was an instant classic, cementing Dre’s place as one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time. The Chronic also introduced the world to Snoop Dogg, who went on to become one of rap’s biggest stars.

In 2000, Dre joined forces with Eminem and released The Marshall Mathers LP. The album was a huge success, debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 and selling over 1 million copies in its first week of release.

50 Cent is an American rapper who rose to fame with his album “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” in 2003. His subsequent albums have all been huge commercial successes, cementing 50 Cent’s position as one of the most successful hip hop artists of all time. He has also had a successful acting career, appearing in films such as “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” and “Home of the Brave”. 50 Cent is widely considered to be one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time, and his contributions to the genre have had a lasting impact.

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg is one of the most iconic figures in hip hop. He first came to prominence in the early 1990s with his work with Dr. Dre and has gone on to have a hugely successful solo career. Over the course of his career, Snoop has won multiple Grammys and sold millions of records worldwide. He is also known for his work in film and television, including roles in movies like “Training Day” and “Starsky & Hutch.”

Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar is one of the most respected and celebrated hip hop artists of all time. His follow-up album, To Pimp a Butterfly, was even more successful, winning Lamar a Pulitzer Prize for Music.

With hits like “Ms. Jackson” and “Hey Ya!,” Outkast helped to define the sound of hip hop in the 2000s and remain one of the greatest rap groups of all time.
