Lopez and Ja Rule wrote the song with Cory Rooney and Irving Lorenzo, who produced the track with Jerry “Wonder” Duplessis. “Ain’t It Funny” contains a sample of Stevie Wonder’s 1971 hit single “Maybe Your Baby”, and features a heavy R&B and hip hop sound. The music video was directed by Tim Story and features appearances from Mystikal, Iy AZ, Sixth Sense and Lil Fate. The video starts with Ludacris and Nate Dogg rapping together in a studio. It then shows footage of them performing at a club, with many people dancing. Throughout the video, there are also scenes of Ludacris at home with his mother and grandmother.
