The Music

Jamiroquai is a British acid jazz band that rose to prominence in the 1990s. The group’s sound is a mix of funk, disco, soul, and pop that incorporates elements of rock and roll. The band’s musical style has been compared to that of George Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic collective and the late ’70s work of Stevie Wonder.

Jamiroquai was formed in 1992 by lead singer Jason Kay and keyboardist Toby Smith. The band’s first album, Emergency on Planet Earth, was released in 1993 and was a commercial success in Europe, reaching the top 10 in several countries. The album was less successful in the United States, peaking at number 79 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The band’s second album, The Return of the Space Cowboy, was released in 1994 and was another commercial success, reaching the top 10 in several countries and the top 20 in the United States. The album featured the hit single “Space Cowboy”, which peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart and number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The band’s third album, Travelling Without Moving, was released in 1996 and reached number 1 in several countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and Japan. The album also peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and received positive reviews from critics.

The band’s fourth album, Synkronized, was released in 1999 and once again reached number 1 in several countries around the world. The album received positive reviews from critics and won a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Since forming in 1992, Jamiroquai has released eight studio albums, two live albums, two greatest hits albums, and two compilation albums. The band has sold over 35 million albums worldwide and has won multiple awards, including two Grammy Awards and three Brit Awards.

The Reaction

“The Reaction” is a song by British funk band Jamiroquai. It was released as the second single from their fifth studio album, A Funk Odyssey, on 15 April 2002. The song peaked at number fourteen on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the band’s tenth top twenty hit in the country. In June 2002, the song was nominated for a Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song.

Conclusion

Jabig’s mix of Jamiroquai is a fantastic example of how the group’s sound can be reworked for the modern day. By mixing in tracks from other artists, Jabig has created a cohesive blend that retains the essence of what made Jamiroquai great in the first place. The end result is a fun and funky listen that will leave you wanting more.
