In this blog post, we’ll take a look at how kids react to funk music. We’ll explore the good, the bad, and the ugly of funk music through the eyes of children.

Introduction

Funk is a music genre that originated in the mid-1960s. It is characterized by a strong backbeat, Humpty Dumpty-style bass lines, and often unconventional melodies and chord progressions. Some of the best-known funk artists include James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, George Clinton, and Sly and the Family Stone.

In this installment of Kids React, we asked a group of kids to listen to and react to some popular funk songs. The results were mixed, to say the least! Some of the kids loved the music, while others found it confusing or unpleasant. But overall, it was a fun experiment, and we’re sure that there are plenty of young funk fans out there.

The Good

Many kids enjoy funk music for its catchy beats and upbeat tempo. Some of the biggest hits in funk music history include “We Want the Funk” by Parliament, “Flash Light” by Parliament, and “Superfreak” by Rick James. These songs are often considered classics by fans of the genre.

Funk music usually has a positive message, and many lyrics discuss topics such as celebrating individuality, staying positive in the face of adversity, and dancing your way through life. This type of music often makes people want to get up and move, which can be great for getting some exercise.

The Bad

The Bad: While most of the kids enjoyed the funk music, there were a few who didn’t seem to get into it as much. One said that the music was “weird” and another said that it sounded like “the devil’s music.” Others didn’t seem to understand the lyrics, which can be a bit suggestive at times. Overall, though, the bad reactions were outnumbered by the good ones.

The Ugly

As much as we appreciate the history and origins of funk music, we have to admit that some of it is just plain weird. We’re not sure what these kids were thinking when they made these faces, but it’s pretty clear they weren’t enjoying the music!
