This year’s ceremony was held on October 20, 2021, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The show was hosted by Leslie Grace and Reykon.

The 2021 Latin American Music Awards were handed out Thursday night (April 15).

Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez led the pack with three awards apiece, followed by Ozuna with two. Anuel AA, Camilo, Christian Nodal, Greeicy, Karol G, Manuel Turizo, Reykon and Sebastián Yatra all won one award each.

The Latin American Music Awards (Latin AMAs) is an annual American music award that recognizes the most popular artists in Latin music, as determined by Billboard magazine. It was first held in 2015 and airs on the television network Univision.

The show is produced by dick clark productions (dcp), which also produces the American Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, and the iHeartRadio Music Festival, among others. The inaugural show was held on October 8, 2015, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and was broadcast live on Univision. It was hosted by Telemundo host Jessica Carrillo and Univision personality Mario Lopez.

The first edition of the Latin AMAs took place on October 8, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The show was hosted by Gaby Espino and Mario Lopez. In 2016, the show was moved to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. In 2017, the show was expanded to two nights, with the main show taking place on October 26 and a pre-show on October 25. The pre-show recognizes achievements in social media and digital platforms.

The third edition of theLatin AMAs took place on October 17, 2018 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California and was hosted by Roselyn Sanchez and Christian Acosta. In 2019, Soledad O’Brien served as host for the fourth edition of the awards which took place on October 15 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles; this marked O’Brien’s first time hosting any award ceremony. For 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Telemundo did not air any live event and instead presented a one-hour pre-taped special called “LatinAMAs: En Vivo y En Casa” which aired on November 5; it was hosted by Alec Baldwin and Sofia Reyes.

The 2021 show aired live on Thursday, April 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT from the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
