Ozomatli

Ozomatli is a Mexican-American rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band was formed in 1995 and currently consists of eight members. The band’s music is a mix of Latin, rock, hip-hop, and reggae. Ozomatli is known for their high-energy live shows and political activism. They have released six studio albums, the most recent being 2013’s “Place in the Sun”.

Bomba Estereo

Bomba Estereo is a Columbian musical duo that formed in 2005. The band consists of Simón Mejía and Liliana Saumet, who both grew up in the city of Bogota. Their music is a mix of electronic, hip-hop, reggae, and cumbia. They are one of the most popular Latin music groups and have won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album. Aterciopelados

Aterciopelados is a Colombian rock band that was formed in 1992 by lead singer Andrea Echeverri and bassist Hector Buitrago. Aterciopelados is known for their fusion of rock, punk, and traditional Colombian music styles such as cumbia and salsa.

Echeverri and Buitrago met while they were both students at the National University of Colombia. They began playing music together, initially covers of favorite songs by other artists. They soon began writing their own songs and released their first album, “La Luz Une,” in 1992. The album was a critical success and established Aterciopelados as one of the leading bands in the Colombian rock scene.

Calle 13

Calle 13 is a Puerto Rican musical duo composed of stepbrothers René Pérez Joglar (“Residente”) and Eduardo José Cabra Martínez (“Visitante”). The duo achieved mainstream success with their debut album, Calle 13 (2005), which won five Latin Grammy Awards.

Their second album, Los de Atrás Vienen Conmigo (2008), won three Latin Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. This made Calle 13 the only reggaeton act to ever win this award. The duo’s third album, Entren Los Que Quieran (2010), won two Latin Grammy Awards and was nominated for Album of the Year.

Calle 13 has also won numerous other awards, including fourteen Premios Juventud awards and five MTV Video Music Awards Latinoamérica. They have also been nominated for four Grammy Awards.
