Nirvana

Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987. It was founded by singer-guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic. The band went through a succession of drummers, the longest-lasting and best-known being Dave Grohl, who joined in 1990. Nirvana dissolved after Cobain’s death in 1994. But their music continues to live on, serving as an influence for future generations of artists.

Pearl Jam

Formed in 1990, Pearl Jam is one of the most iconic grunge bands of all time. With hits like “Alive,” “Even Flow,” and “Jeremy,” the band helped define the sound of a generation. If you’re a fan of grunge, Pearl Jam is a must-hear.

Soundgarden

Grunge outfit Soundgarden was one of the most successful bands of the early ’90s, thanks to their mix of Bleach-era punk and metal with staggered, Beatlesque song structures and singer Chris Cornell’s otherworldly range. After a decade away, Soundgarden reemerged in 2012 with their first album in 16 years, King Animal.
