The Collection

New Soul is a free piano sheet music collection that includes both original compositions and arrangements. The music is suitable for intermediate to advanced level piano students.

“New Soul”

“New Soul” is a song written and performed by Yael Naim. It was released in 2007 as the lead single from her self-titled album. The song reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a top ten hit in several countries, including France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

“New Soul” is a song about feeling like an outsider. It is about finding your place in the world and being comfortable in your own skin. The song has been described as “uplifting” and “inspirational.”

“Be Still My Soul”

“Be Still My Soul” is a popular Christian hymn, with lyrics written by Katharina von Schlegel and music composed by Jean Sibelius. The hymn is often performed in both English and Finnish. “Be Still My Soul” is one of the few hymns that has been translated into many different languages and is still widely sung today.

“In the Bleak Midwinter”

One of our most popular pieces from The Collection is “In the Bleak Midwinter”. It was originally a poem written by Christina Rossetti in 1872. The lyrics were later set to music by Gustav Holst in 1906.

“In the Bleak Midwinter” has been recorded by many artists over the years, including Judy Garland, Julie Andrews, Richard Clayderman, and Kelly Clarkson. It was even featured in the 2006 film The Holiday, starring Cameron Diaz and Jude Law.

The piece is beautiful and haunting, with a simple melody that stays with you long after you’ve heard it. We hope you enjoy playing it as much as we do!

The Artist

Yiruma

Yiruma is a South Korean pianist and composer. His birth name is Lee Ru-ma. Yiruma’s “Kiss the Rain” was featured in the British drama series, Roswell, and his “River Flows in You” (First Love) was used in the Twilight film soundtrack and became an international hit.

David Nevue

David Nevue is a prolific composer, having written over 550 pieces of music. His main focus is writing solo piano music, but he has also dabbled in other genres such as New Age, jazz, and even metal. While most of his works are original compositions, he has also arrangements of popular songs such as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

Nevue’s music has been praised for its emotive qualities and its ability to tell a story. He has said that his goal as a composer is to “paint a picture in the listener’s mind” and to take them on “a journey into the depths of their soul.”

Nevue began playing piano at the age of 5 and later took up classical guitar. He began writing his own music in his teens and went on to study composition at Azusa Pacific University. After college, he worked as a studio musician and music director for a number of years before deciding to focus on his solo career.

Nevue is self-taught in the recording arts and operates his own studio, Midnight Rain Productions. In addition to being a prolific composer, he is also an accomplished guitarist, having released several solo guitar albums.
