“Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran

“Shape of You” is a song by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. It was released as a digital download on 6 January 2017 as one of the double lead singles from his third studio album ÷ (2017), along with “Castle on the Hill”. The song debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart, giving Sheeran his fifth UK number one and spending 12 non-consecutive weeks atop the chart.

“Despacito” by Luis Fonsi

“Despacito” is a reggaeton and Latin pop song composed in common time (4 4 time) with a length of three minutes and forty-seven seconds. The song was written by Luis Fonsi, Erika Ender, and Raymond Ayala, and produced by Andrés Torres.

It features vocals from Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and American singer Daddy Yankee. The original version of the song was released on January 12, 2017, which includes only Fonsi’s vocals. An alternate version featuring both singers was released on April 17, 2017.

The original version of “Despacito” became the first single to be largely performed in Spanish to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart since “Macarena” (Bayside Boys mix) in 1996. It also set the record for most weeks at number one for a Spanish-language song and is currently the longest-leading single of all time on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart. In May 2017, “Despacito” topped the charts of 47 countries and reached number one in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom; it became both Fonsi’s and Daddy Yankee’s first number one single in the UK.

“Something Just Like This” is a song by American DJ duo The Chainsmokers, featuring vocals from English singer-songwriter Coldplay. It was released on February 22, 2017 as the second single from The Chainsmokers’ album, Memories…Do Not Open.

“Attention” by Charlie Puth

“Attention” is a song recorded by American singer Charlie Puth for his second studio album, Voicenotes (2018). Written and produced by Puth, the song was released to American contemporary hit radio on April 24, 2018, as the album’s second single. The track is a pop and synth-pop song with influences of tropical house. Lyrically, it finds Puth addressing an unfaithful lover.

“Attention” received generally positive reviews from critics, many of whom praised its production and Puth’s vocals. The song peaked at number 5 on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. It also became Puth’s highest-charting single in Australia, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand. An accompanying music video for “Attention”, directed by Emil Nava and shot entirely in black-and-white, was released on May 18, 2018. It depicts Puth following around a girl he is attracted to while assuming various disguises in an attempt to get her attention.

“Havana” is a song recorded by Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello featuring guest vocals from American rapper Young Thug. It was released on August 3, 2017, as the lead single from her debut studio album, The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving. “Havana” peaked at number one in several countries including Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, and the United Kingdom. In the United States, the song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and became Cabello’s first number-one single on the US Mainstream Top 40 chart.

“Perfect” is a ballad by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. The song was included on his third studio album ÷ (2017). After its release as a single, “Perfect” reached number one in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and Scotland. The track originally debuted at number four on the UK Singles Chart following the release of the album; however, after the song was chosen as an iTunes Single of the Week for December 2017 and subsequently added to streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music, it reached number one on the UK chart in January 2018. In February 2018, “Perfect” became the UK’s longest-reigning number-one single by a male solo artist.

“All of Me” by John Legend

“All of Me” is a song by American singer John Legend from his fourth studio album Love in the Future (2013). Legend wrote and co-produced the song with Toby Gad. “All of Me” first hit airwaves on August 12, 2013, as the album’s third single. The song peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in early 2014.

“All of Me” is a tender piano ballad that Legend dedicated to his wife Chrissy Teigen. The lyrics are about how Legend would give up everything for love. He uses various metaphors to describe how love has changed him for the better.

The song was a huge commercial success. In addition to topping the Billboard Hot 100, it also peaked at number one in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. “All of Me” won two Grammy Awards: Best Pop Solo Performance and Best R&B Performance.

In the United Kingdom, “Closer” became both The Chainsmokers’ and Halsey’s first number-one single on the UK Singles Chart.
