The Psychedelic Furs- “Love My Way”

The Psychedelic Furs are an English rock band formed in London in 1977. The mainstay of the band through its first fourteen years was singer Richard Butler, with brothers Tim Butler on bass guitar and Duncan “Snake” Thomas on drums. The Psychedelic Furs’ music went through several phases, starting off as an underground punk band and later gaining popularity as a New Wave act. By the early 1980s, however, most of the members had begun to move on to other projects and it wasn’t until 2001 that the Butler brothers reconvened to reform the band.

The band’s new album, “Come Alive”, was released in March of 2010 and was their first album in over 20 years. In June of that same year, they embarked on a world tour which included dates in Europe, North America, and Australia. The Psychedelic Furs continue to tour regularly and are still going strong today.

Their most popular song is “Love My Way”, which was originally released as a single in 1982 and later appeared on the soundtrack to the film “Pretty in Pink”. The song has been covered by many artists over the years, most notably by Billy Idol in 1987.

The Cult- “She Sells Sanctuary”

She Sells Sanctuary is a DVD by the English rock band The Cult, released in 2006. It contains three music videos shot in black and white that were directed by frontman Ian Astbury. The videos are “She Sells Sanctuary”, “Fire Woman”, and “Sweet Soul Sister”.

The Doors- “Light My Fire” is an excellent choice for those who want to get the feel of what it was like to see The Doors in their prime. This DVD includes live performances of some of their most popular songs such as “Light My Fire”, “People Are Strange”, “Break On Through (To the Other Side)”, and “The End”. In addition, there are interviews with the band members and footage of them backstage and on the road. If you’re a fan of The Doors or just want to experience what psychedelic rock was all about, this DVD is a must-have.

Jimi Hendrix- “All Along the Watchtower”

This DVD features one of the most electrifying performances in rock history, as Jimi Hendrix and his band recorded “All Along the Watchtower” at the Fillmore East on New Year’s Eve, 1969. The footage, which has been restored and remixed in 5.1 surround sound, captures Hendrix at the height of his powers, leading his band through a set that also included classics like “Purple Haze,” “Fire,” and “Voodoo Child.”

Pink Floyd- “Another Brick in the Wall”

This concert film was shot during the recording of Pink Floyd’s historic album, The Wall. It captures the band at their creative and performing peak, and gives an intimate look at their recording process. The visuals are stunning, and the performance is electrifying.
