Plenty of options to catch reggae music in the Sacramento area this weekend. If you find yourself in Placerville, you can check out Reggae on the River at the Hangtown Music Festival. Reggae on the Mountain will be held at the Snow Mountain Ranch in Coloma.

Reggae on the River

Reggae on the River is an annual music festival that takes place in Humboldt County, California. The event was founded in 1984 by Virgil Wendell Gregg and originally took place on the banks of the Eel River. In 1999, the festival relocated to French’s Camp, a private campground in Piercy, California. Reggae on the River features a variety of Jamaican and international artists performing traditional reggae, ska, dub, and dancehall music. The event is currently produced by High Times magazine.

In addition to musical performances, Reggae on the River also features a number of other activities and attractions, including camping, yoga classes, drum circles, and workshops on topics such as permaculture and sustainability.
