The Psychedelic Furs- “Love My Way”

The Psychedelic Furs are an English rock band founded in 1977. The band’s music spans a wide range of genres, including punk rock, art rock, new wave, and synth-pop. They are best known for their 1980s hit singles “Love My Way” and “Pretty in Pink”.

“Love My Way” is a song by the English rock band the Psychedelic Furs. It was released in July 1982 as the third single from their second album, Talk Talk Talk (1981). The song was written by the band’s lead singer Richard Butler and guitarist John Ashton. It peaked at number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States and at number 51 on the UK Singles Chart.

The Psychedelic Furs’ video for “Love My Way” was one of the first videos aired on MTV’s newly launched rotation of music videos in August 1981. The video features then-unknown actress Darlanne Fluegel lip-syncing Butler’s vocals.

The Doors- “Light My Fire”

The Doors were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, and drummer John Densmore. They were among the most controversial and influential rock acts of the 1960s, mostly because of Morrison’s lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. After Morrison’s death in 1971 at age 27, the remaining members continued as a trio until finally disbanding in 1973.

“Light My Fire” is a song by the Doors, which was recorded in 1967 and released on their eponymous debut album. It was written by Robby Krieger, and features lead vocals by Jim Morrison. The song spent three weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July/August 1967[4] and one week at number two on the UK Singles Chart.[5] It was certified platinum by the RIAA.[6][7]

In 2015, the Library of Congress selected “Light My Fire” for preservation in the National Recording Registry for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.[8][9][10]

Pink Floyd- “Another Brick in the Wall”

Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall” is one of the most iconic and well-known songs in rock history. The song, which is about the frustration of modern life, became an anthem for the counterculture movement of the late 1960s and 1970s. Pink Floyd’s album, “The Wall,” which features “Another Brick in the Wall,” is a concept album that tells the story of a man who is slowly losing his mind. The album was adapted into a film in 1982, directed by Alan Parker and starring Bob Geldof.

Jimi Hendrix- “Purple Haze”

Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze” is a perfect example of a psychedelic rock song. The lyrics are purposely vague and open to interpretation, the guitar riff is catchy and hypnotic, and the overall atmosphere of the song is otherworldly. The Rolling Stones- “Paint It, Black”

The Rolling Stones are an English rock band that formed in London in 1962. The first stable line-up consisted of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar, vocals), Bill Wyman (bass), Charlie Watts (drums), and Ian Stewart (piano). Stewart was removed from the official line-up in 1963 but continued to work with the band as a contracted musician until his death in 1985. The band’s primary songwriters, Jagger and Richards, assumed leadership after Andrew Loog Oldham became the group’s manager. Jones left the band less than a month before his death in 1969, having already been replaced by Mick Taylor, who remained until 1974. After Taylor left the band, Ronnie Wood took his place in 1975 and has been on guitar in tandem with Richards ever since. Since then it has been their lead singer Jagger who has taken over writing or co-writing most of their songs They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004. Rolling Stone magazine ranked them fourth on their “100 Greatest Artists of All Time” list and their estimated album sales are above 250 million. They have released 30 studio albums, 23 live albums and numerous compilations. Let It Bleed (1969) followed by Sticky Fingers (1971) and Exile on Main St. (1972) are widely considered to be among the greatest albums of all time
