Saints Row 2 is a 2008 open world action-adventure video game developed by Volition and published by THQ. The game was released in October 2008 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and in 2009 for Microsoft Windows. It is the second title in the Saints Row series, after 2006’s Saints Row.

The game’s soundtrack features 106 licensed songs. In addition to the licensed music, the game features an original score composed by Julian Beresford (credited as Malice).

The game is set in the fictional city of Stillwater five years after the events of Saints Row. The player character returns to Stillwater after being framed for a crime they did not commit and incarcerated. Upon release from prison, the player character seeks out the 3rd Street Saints, the only gang remaining in Stillwater that can protect them from rival gangs who are warring over control of the city.

One of the defining aspects of Saints Row 2 is its soundtrack, which features a mix of licensed music and original songs composed specifically for the game. The game’s musical style has been described as “punk rock meets hip hop”.
