We wanted to create something that would not only appeal to existing fans of the series, but also introduce newcomers tothe world of SoulCalibur. In order to do this, we knew we had to start with a bang. The opening scene needed to be big,exciting and visually arresting – something that would leave audiences both wanting more, and wanting to play the gameitself.
From there, we decided to focus on two main concepts: the stories of our two main characters – Sophitia and Patroklos -and the intense rivalries between them. These two ideas formed the basis for our storyboard, which you can see below. You’llnotice that much of the action takes place in what looks like a coliseum; this was intentional, as we wanted to capturethe feeling of an epic battle taking place on a grand stage.
The Music
The original music for the video was composed by video game music composer Inon Zur. The main theme of the song is “The Legend of Souls and Swords”, which is the main theme of the entire Soulcalibur series. The music for the video was recorded with a live orchestra, and the vocals were provided by Hila Kulik.
The Visuals
