Introduction

Airlines have been getting a lot of bad press lately, so it’s nice to see one that’s going above and beyond to make flying a more pleasant experience. Soul Plane, the new movie starring Snoop Dogg and Tom Arnold, is set on an all-black airline called NWA (N-Word Airlines), and the soundtrack is full of relaxing, feel-good music to help passengers drift off to sleep.

There are two discs in the Soul Plane soundtrack, one for takeoff and one for landing. The takeoff disc features mostly up-tempo hip-hop and R&B tracks to get passengers moving and groove them into their seats. The landing disc is a bit more mellow, with some smooth jazz and R&B tunes to help passengers unwind after a long flight.

The Soul Plane soundtrack is the perfect way to add some fun and relaxation to your next flight. So put on your headphones, sit back, and enjoy the ride!

The Plot

The film opens with a disclaimer that “Any similarity to actual events, locales or persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended by the filmmakers”, in an obvious spoof of Paramount Pictures’ disaster movie Airplane! that starred Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty.

The first part of the film is set on board the maiden voyage of Snoop Dogg Airlines, which is celebrating its inaugural flight from LAX to Vegas. In an attempt to make the flying experience more enjoyable for the black community, the airline has installed big-screen TVs, spinners on the ceiling (for those who get dizzy during turbulence), a casino, a disco club, and 50 ft. seatbelts (so obese passengers don’t have to purchase two seats).

However, due to a series of mishaps (including an air traffic controller’s mother-in-law’s pet llama getting loose in the cockpit), the plane crash lands in a remote area of Montana. A white family out for a drive comes across the survivors and offers them shelter at their home. While there, Nashawn falls for their daughter Gabrielle Union), which enrages her bigoted father Nate Mooney). The next day, Nashawn and his friends buy a used school bus from a junkyard so they can continue their journey to Vegas. However, they are pursued by Nate and his redneck buddies in pickup trucks, who want revenge for Nashawn dating Gabrielle.

In the end, Nashawn successfully reaches Vegas with his friends, who all win millions of dollars in the casino. Meanwhile, Nate is arrested for moonshining (which was revealed earlier in the film).
