The two had been playing together in the local ska scene for a few years and decided to start a new project that would combine their love of Jamaican music with their punk rock roots. The Felons were quickly joined by drummer Robby Rombold, and the three-piece began writing and rehearsing their own brand of “supercharged reggae-punk.”

The Felons made their live debut in December of 2014, and they’ve been thrilling audiences with their high-energy live shows ever since. In the spring of 2015, The Felons released their self-titled debut EP, which was recorded by Grammy-winning engineer Matt Hyde (No Doubt, Slayer, Monster Magnet). The six-song EP received rave reviews from critics and fans alike, and it helped to establish The Felons as one of the premier up-and-coming bands in the Midwest music scene.

The Felons spent the rest of 2015 and 2016 touring relentlessly, playing shows throughout the Midwest and East Coast. In September of 2016, The Felons made their first trip to California to play the prestigious One Love Cali Reggae Festival in Long Beach. The band also made an appearance on NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly,” where they performed their song “So Much Trouble.”

The Felons are currently working on material for their next release, which is scheduled for 2017.
