Shape of You- Ed Sheeran

“Shape of You” is a song by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. It was released as a digital download on 6 January 2017 as one of the double lead singles from his third studio album ÷ (2017), along with “Castle on the Hill”. The song debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart in February 2017 and has since peaked at number one in more than 30 countries, including the US, Australia and Germany. On 21 August 2017, Billboard named it the ‘Song of the Summer’. With this achievement, “Shape of You” became only the fifth song to simultaneously hold the top three positions on Billboard’s Hot 100, Mainstream Top 40 and Adult Top 40 charts.

“That’s What I Like” is a song by American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars from his third studio album, 24K Magic (2016). The song was written by Mars, Philip Lawrence, Christopher Brody Brown, James Fauntleroy, Johnathan Yip, Ray Romulus, Jeremy Reeves and Jonnali Parmenius. production was handled by the former three under their stage name Shampoo Press & Curl. “That’s What I Like” peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and remained there for seven consecutive weeks, becoming Mars’ fifth US number-one single. Internationally, the song topped the charts in Australia and Canada, while also reaching the top 10 in Denmark, New Zealand and Sweden.

A music video for “That’s What I Like” was released on March 1, 2017 on Mars’ YouTube channel. The visual features Mars and a group of women in various locations throughout Paris. On March 7, 2017, Mars performed the song live on Saturday Night Live in promotion of 24K Magic. Critical reception towards “That’s What I Like” was positive; several critics praised its production and catchiness, while others noted it as a highlight from 24K Magic. Time named it as one of their “10 Best Songs of 2017”, while Pitchfork placed it at number 21 on their “100 Best Songs of 2017” list. It was written by Andrew Taggart, Ashley Frangipane and Shaun Frank, with the production handled by the former two. “Closer” is a synthpop song with a strong electronic influence and contains an interpolation of the 1994 hit song “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” by Whitney Houston. Commercially, “Closer” peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 consecutive weeks, making it both The Chainsmokers’ and Halsey’s first number-one single in the United States.

24K Magic- Bruno Mars

24K Magic is the third studio album by American singer Bruno Mars. It was released on November 18, 2016, by Atlantic Records. The follow-up to Mars’ successful second album, Unorthodox Jukebox (2012), it explores genres similar to those of its predecessor, such as soul and R&B.

The album received generally mixed reviews from music critics and debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 with 196,000 album-equivalent units, including 73,000 pure sales. The lead single “24K Magic” peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The second single “That’s What I Like” also reached number one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and was certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA. marsVEVO on YouTube has amassed more than 1 billion views for all of Mars’ 24k Music promotional videos.

“Despacito” is a single by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi featuring Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee from the former’s upcoming studio album. On January 12, 2017, Universal Music Latin released “Despacito” and an accompanying music video, which shows both artists performing the song in La Perla neighborhood of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico and the local bar La Factoría. The song was written by Luis Fonsi, Erika Ender and its producer Ricky Martin. It is a reggaeton and Latin pop song composed in common time with a length of three minutes and forty-seven seconds.

“Body Like a Back Road” is a song co-written and recorded by American country music singer Sam Hunt. It was released to radio on February 1, 2017 as the fourth single from his album Montevallo. The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and led the Hot Country Songs chart for 25 weeks, becoming both Hunt’s longest-running number one single and the longest-running number one by any artist in the history of that chart. It also peaked at number six on the US Billboard Hot 100, making it his highest-charting single on that chart to date.

Say You Won’t Let Go- James Arthur

“Say You Won’t Let Go” is a song by British singer-songwriter James Arthur. It was released on 9 September 2016 as the lead single from his second studio album, Back from the Edge (2016). The song peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart in November 2016, becoming Arthur’s first single to reach the top spot in three years. In January 2017, the song reached number one in Ireland, giving Arthur his second consecutive Irish number-one single.

In October 2016, the song debuted at number 100 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and eventually peaked at number 43 in March 2017, becoming Arthur’s first single to enter the top 50 of the chart. The song has been certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
