Nacho Perez is the new CEO of Universal Music Latin Entertainment, and he’s got big plans for the company. In an interview with Billboard, Perez talks about his vision for the future of the Latin music industry.

Welcome to our new series highlighting the leading executives in the Latin music industry. This week, we’re featuring Victor Manuelle, the new CEO of Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE).

Manuelle was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He began his career in the music industry working as a promotions director for a local record label. He then went on to work for Sony Music Latin America before joining UMLE in 2010.

Under Manuelle’s leadership, UMLE has experienced incredible growth. In just the past year, the company has signed some of the biggest names in Latin music, including J Balvin, Ozuna, and Bad Bunny. It has also launched several successful new initiatives, such as its “Latino Power” campaign celebrating Latino culture and its partnership with the Latin Grammy Awards.

Thanks to Manuelle’s vision and guidance, UMLE is now one of the most successful companies in the Latin music industry. We’re excited to see what he’ll achieve in the years to come!

Who is the new CEO?

Luis E. Fernandez has been named CEO of Universal Music Latin Entertainment, it was announced today by Lucian Grainge, Chairman & CEO of Universal Music Group. Fernandez will be based in Miami and report directly to Grainge.

Fernandez joins UMLE from Sony Music Latin where he served as President and CEO since 2012. Prior to that he was Executive Vice President & General Manager of RCA Victor Label Group, a joint venture between Sony Music and Bertelsmann Music Group. Fernandez has also held senior executive positions at Jive Records, EMI Latin and WEA Latina.

“I am delighted to welcome Luis to UMLE,” said Grainge. “He is one of the most experienced and respected executives in the Latin music industry, with an impressive track record of success in building artists’ careers and developing creative marketing strategies. I am confident that under his leadership UMLE will continue to lead the way in signing and promoting the best Latin music talent.”

What is the new CEO’s background?

Luis Sola is the new CEO of Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE). Prior to this role, Sola served as the president of Universal Music Mexico and Central America. Sola has over 20 years of experience in the music industry, and has worked with some of the biggest names in Latin music. He is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Business.

What are the new CEO’s plans for the company?

In an interview with Billboard, the new CEO of Universal Music Latin Entertainment, Jesús López, talked about his plans for the company. He said that he wants to focus on three things: quality, innovation, and internationalization.

López said that he wants to release more “quality” music, meaning music that is well-crafted and has mass appeal. He also wants to be more innovative in the way that Universal Music Latin Entertainment releases music and markets it to fans. For example, he said that he wants to release more “visual albums” (albums with accompanying videos) and experiment with new marketing strategies.

Finally, López said that he wants to expand Universal Music Latin Entertainment’s reach beyond Latin America. He wants to release more Spanish-language music in the United States and Europe and sign more international artists.

Angellili will have her work cut out for her as she seeks to revive a label that has been struggling in recent years. With a new team in place and a renewed focus on finding and signing new talent, UMLE is poised for a comeback.
