The Music Video

The “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” music video was directed by Mark Romanek and features Timberlake dancing in various locations around Los Angeles, including a subway station, a shadows-filled parking garage, an empty bus stop and an alleyway spray-painted with graffiti. Romanek’s team also shot footage of people dancing in various public places around the world, including Tokyo, Moscow, Rio de Janeiro and London. The video was released on YouTube on May 16, 2016. As of August 2020, the video has received over 1.6 billion views.

The Legacy

Can’t Stop the Feeling! was released in 2016 as a part of the soundtrack for the movie Trolls. The song was written by Justin Timberlake, Max Martin and Shellback, and produced by Timberlake, Martin and Ricky Reed. It became an instant hit, topping the charts in over 20 countries.

In 2018, Can’t Stop the Feeling! was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. This honor is reserved for recordings that have “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant” value.
