If you’re a fan of West Side Story, Romeo and Juliet, or indie rock music, then you’re sure to enjoy this new take on a classic story.

The Making of the Music Video

The music video for “RAP” by West Side Story-inspired indie rock band, The Kooks, was filmed in one continuous shot. The video was directed by Nabil Elderkin and features the band performing the song in a warehouse. The video was shot in Los Angeles, California in October of 2006.

The Concept

We wanted to make an Indie Rock music video that was inspired by West Side Story. We were thinking about the themes of love, loss, friendship, and betrayal and how they’re all kind of wrapped up in the idea of being a teenager. We also wanted to incorporate some elements of rap into the song, because we felt like that would be a really unique twist on the genre.

So, we came up with the idea of two rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, who are vying for control of the neighborhood. But, instead of fighting with guns and knives, they battle it out with words and rhymes. The video opens with a scene of the two gangs facing off against each other, and then we see them battling it out in a series of rhyming battles.

In between all of the action, we also see scenes of the two main characters, Tony and Maria, who are caught in between the two gangs. They’re in love with each other, but they can’t be together because they’re from different sides. We see them trying to fight against all odds to be together, but ultimately it’s not meant to be.

The video ends with a heart-wrenching scene where Maria is gunned down by one of the Sharks, and Tony is left alone mourning her death. It’s a tragically beautiful story told through music and dance, and we hope you enjoy it!

The Location

We shot the video on the west side of town, near an abandoned warehouse that was perfect for our needs. The area was perfect for the setting we were going for, and it provided plenty of space for us to work with. We had a lot of fun shooting the video, and we’re very happy with the final product.

The Shoot

We had an amazing time shooting the video for our latest single, “RAP.” The entire team came together to create a West Side Story-inspired music video that we’re all extremely proud of.

The shoot took place over the course of two days in Los Angeles. We were fortunate enough to work with an incredibly talented cast and crew who helped bring our vision to life. We can’t wait for everyone to see the finished product!

The Music Video Itself

The music video for “RAP” by the band “West Side Story” is a beautifully crafted, narrative-driven piece that tells the story of two young lovers discovering each other and themselves. The video opens with the two main characters, who are played by actors clad in all black, meeting for the first time. They share an intimate moment, after which the video cuts to a montage of the two of them going about their daily lives. The video then culminates in a rousing performance by the band, during which the two main characters finally come together.

The Opening Scene

The opening scene of the music video is a close-up of a man’s face. He has dark hair and stubble on his chin. He looks serious and intense. The camera zooms out to reveal that he is wearing a black hoodie and is sitting in a dark room. There are no lights on in the room, and the only light source is coming from a computer screen that is in front of him. He is staring at the screen, and his eyes are glued to it. The camera zooms in on the computer screen, and we see that he is watching a video of two young men dancing. The video is in black and white, and it looks like it was filmed with a cell phone or a home video camera. The two men are dancing energetically to music that we can’t hear. They are smiling and laughing, and they seem to be having a great time. After a few seconds, the man turns off the video and gets up from his chair.

The Dance Scenes

The dance scenes are what make the video so special. They are all inspired by classic moves from the original West Side Story movie, but with a modern twist. The choreography is amazing, and it is clear that the dancers worked extremely hard to perfect their craft. Every move is perfectly in sync, and the overall effect is mesmerizing. It is obvious that the dancers had a lot of fun while making the video, and that they are truly passionate about their art form.

The Storyline

The storyline of the music video is simple enough. A young, white girl falls in love with a Latino gang member from the “wrong side of the tracks.” Her conservative family disapproves, but she rebels against them and follows her heart. The couple’s love is forbidden, and as a result, tragedy strikes.

The video itself is beautifully shot, and the choreography is excellent. It perfectly captures the tension and conflict of the story, and the ending is both tragic and bittersweet.

If you’re a fan of West Side Story or just good music, then this video is definitely worth a watch.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the music video for “West Side Story-Inspired Indie Rock Music Video -RAP” is a work of art that brilliantly combines traditionalmovie storytelling with modern indie rock music. The result is a truly unique and entertaining experience that is sure to please fans of both genres.
