The 2020 Soul Train Music Awards will be held on Sunday, November 29 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Introduction

The 2020 Soul Train Music Awards is an annual awards show that honors the best in Black music and entertainment. The show is produced by BET Networks and airs on BET Her. This year’s show will be hosted by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold. The awards will be given out in a variety of categories, including Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and much more.

Winners

The 2020 Soul Train Music Awards were held on November 29, 2020. The awards were originally scheduled to take place on November 28, but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The awards ceremony was held virtually for the first time in its history, and was hosted by Amandla Stenberg.

The nominees for the 2020 Soul Train Music Awards were announced on October 7, 2020. Other winners included Summer Walker, who won three awards: Best New Artist, Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, and CentricTV Certified Award; and Megan Thee Stallion, who won two awards: Best Dance Performance (for “Body”) and Album/Mixtape of the Year (for Good News).

In a race for all 50 states and Washington D.C., Biden secured 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232. As of 11pm EST on November 7th, Biden had also gained a lead in the popular vote with over 80 million votes; Trump had obtained over 74 million. These results make Joe Biden the46th president-elect of the United States.

The show was hosted by Amanda Seales and featured performances by Alicia Keys, Earthgang, Busta Rhymes, Chloe x Halle, Herbie Hancock, Johnny Gill, Ledisi, McCoy Tyner Trio, Mulatu Astatke, PJ Morton, Robert Glasper Experiment, SiR and Tobe Nwigwe.

This year’s awards were dominated by two artists: Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion. Beyoncé won a total of seven awards, including Best R&B/Soul Female Artist and Song of the Year for “Black Parade”. Megan Thee Stallion won six awards, including Best R&B/Soul Female Artist and Best New Artist. Other notable winners include Doja Cat, who won Best Dance Performance for “Say So”, and Chloe x Halle, who won the YoungStar Award.
