Date announced
Today, the Latin American Music Awards announced that the 2021 show will take place on Thursday, October 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Telemundo. The show will once again be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA.
The Latin American Music Awards is an annual awards show that celebrates the best and brightest in Latin music. The show features musical performances by some of the biggest names in the Latin music world, as well as awards ceremonies honoring the artists and musicians who have made a significant impact in the Latin music industry.

The show will take place in Miami on October 20 .This was due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused the cancellation of the originally scheduled show in Los Angeles.

The Album of the Year category celebrates the best Latin albums released in the past year. Albums must be predominately in Spanish or Portuguese to be eligible. Below are the nominees for this year’s award:

New Categories
The Latin American Music Awards (LAMAs) are produced by dick clark productions (dcp) and Telemundo. The show will air live on Thursday, April 15, at 8pm/7c from the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot. New this year, the show will feature four new award categories: Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year and Favorite Male Artist – Regional Mexican.
Best New Artist
This award is given to a solo artist or group that released their first recording during the eligibility period. To be eligible, an artist must have released a minimum of five singles/tracks or one album, but no more than 30 singles/tracks or three albums. Artists who have previously won a Grammy in any category are not eligible.
Best Collaboration
The Latin American Music Awards (LatinAMAs) have announced the date and broadcast information for the 2021 show. Air date and time have not been announced yet, but we do know that the show will be broadcast on Telemundo. The awards show will be held on Thursday, April 29th at 8pm EST / 7pm CST.
This will be the sixth annual LatinAMAs and Telemundo has broadcast the show since its inception in 2016. The LatinAMAs are produced by dick clark productions and co-produced by Telemundo.
The Latin American Music Awards recognize artists from all over Latin America, in all genres of music. This year’s award show will feature a new category: Best Collaboration. This award will be given to the artist or group who releases the best collaborative single or music video featuring two or more artists from different countries within Latin America.
Best Live Performance
The Latin American Music Awards (or Premios Lo Nuestro Latinoamerica) is an annual award show that recognizes the best performing Latin artists of the year. The show is produced by Univision and telecast live on the network.
This year’s show, set to take place on October 20, will feature a brand new category: Best Live Performance. This award will recognize the artist who gave the best live performance at a Latin American music festival or concert during the eligibility period (July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021).
So far, no nominees have been announced for this new award category. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available!
How to Vote
The Latin American Music Awards (LAMAs) are returning for the fourth consecutive year and will air live on Thursday, October 21 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on Telemundo. For the first time ever, the awards show will also be available to stream on Peacock. Headlining this year’s show is Bad Bunny, who is also the most nominated artist with 15 nods.
