As the sun sets, people are getting ready for a country music extravaganza. The smell of BBQ is in the air, and the sounds of people chatting and laughing can be heard. The stage is set, and the lights are shining. The crowd is eagerly awaiting the start of the show.

George Strait

George Strait is an American country music singer, songwriter, actor, and music producer. George Strait’s success began when his first single “Unwound” was a hit in 1981. During the 1980s, seven of his albums reached number one on the country charts. He has been referred to as “King George” and “The Cowboy Rides Away”.

George Strait has had 60 number-one hit singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, including 33 which topped the chart. He has also collected more number-one hits than any other artist in the history of country music.George Strait set a record in 2013 for having the most gold and platinum album certifications in the history of country music with 59 total certifications. In 2014, he broke his own record with his 60th gold or platinum album: The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium.

Garth Brooks

Garth Brooks is an American singer and songwriter who helped make country music popular in the 1990s. He has sold more than 140 million records, making him one of the best-selling musicians of all time. His hits include “Friends in Low Places,” “The Thunder Rolls,” and “Unanswered Prayers.”

Alan Jackson

Alan Jackson is an American singer and songwriter. He is known for blending traditional honky tonk and mainstream country sounds and penning many of his own songs.

Jackson has recorded 16 studio albums, 3 greatest hits albums, 2 Christmas albums, 2 gospel albums and several compilations. Of Jackson’s 166 singles, he has placed 66 songs in the top of the Billboard Country Singles charts, including 35 number ones. He is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2001.

Carrie Underwood is one of the most popular and successful country music artists of our generation. She broke onto the scene in 2005 with her debut album, Some Hearts, which went on to sell over seven million copies. Carrie has won numerous awards, including five Grammy Awards and seven Country Music Association Awards. She has also been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Carrie’s latest album, Cry Pretty, was released in 2018 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Blake Shelton

Blake Tollison Shelton (born June 18, 1976) is an American country singer, songwriter and television personality. In 2001, he made his debut with the single “Austin”. The lead-off single from his self-titled debut album, “Austin” spent five weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The now Platinum-certified debut album also produced two more top 20 entries (“All Over Me” and “Ol’ Red”). Although the album was released on Giant Records Nashville, he was transferred to Warner Bros. Records Nashville after Giant closed in late 2001.

Shelton’s second and third albums, 2003’s The Dreamer and 2004’s Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill, are gold and platinum, respectively. His fourth album, Startin’ Fires was released in 2008. Overall, Blake Shelton has charted 32 country singles, including 23 number ones, 17 of which were consecutive. The 11th No. 1 broke “the record for the most consecutive No. 1 singles in the Country Airplay chart’s history”. He is a seven-time Grammy Award nominee.” Austin” is included in 2000s: Gold & Platinum albums list by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Keith Urban

Keith Urban is a Australian country music singer, songwriter and guitarist whose commercial success has been mainly in the United States and Canada. In 1991, he released a self-titled debut album and charted four singles in Australia before moving to the United States the following year. He found work as a session guitarist before starting a solo career in 1999 with the release of his self-titled debut album. The album was certified platinum in the US, and produced his first Number One hit on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, “But for the Grace of God”. His second album, Golden Road, was released two years later and is certified 3× Platinum in the US. His third album, Be Here, was released shortly thereafter and became his best-selling album to date. It included three more Number One hits: “Somebody Like You”, “Who Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me”, and “You’ll Think of Me”. A greatest hits package entitled Greatest Hits was released in late 2004; it has since been certified 4× Platinum in Australia and 2× Platinum in the US. A new single, “Stupid Boy”, was released to radio at the end of 2006 and reached Number One on the Country charts; it was followed by another new single called “Once in a Lifetime” which peaked at Number 3 on Billboard’s country charts.

He has released nine studio albums (an tenth, Ripcord, is set to be released on May 6, 2016), as well as one double album (Greatest Hits), one live album (Live: Everywhere We Go), three compilation albums (The Ranch, Defying Gravity (Deluxe Edition) and Greatest Hits: 18 Kids). Those albums have produced twenty-six singles on the US Billboard country charts, of which fourteen have reached Number One: “But for the Grace of God” (2000), “Somebody Like You” (2002), “Who Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me” (2003), “You’ll Think of Me” (2004), “Better Life” (2005),

“Once in a Lifetime” (2006), “Stupid Boy” (2007), “Sweet Thing” (2008), “‘Til Summer Comes Around”

(2009), “(Up All Night) Somebody Like You” (2010; a duet with Jedd Hughes), “Without You”

(2011; also featuring Hughes), “Long Hot Summer” (2013), and finally his most recent hit single,”Raise ‘Em Up”, a duet with Eric Church.

His songs are as powerful and relevant today as they were when he first recorded them, making him one of the most influential figures in country music history.

Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson is an American country music singer-songwriter, musician, actor, and activist. He has acted in over 30 films, co-authored several books, and has been involved in activism for the use of biofuels and the legalization of marijuana. Nelson was born in Abbott, Texas on April 30, 1933. He was raised by his grandparents after his parents divorced when he was six months old. Though he dropped out of high school to pursue a musical career, he eventually got his GED.

Nelson’s professional career began as a songwriter in the late 1950s. He wrote songs that were eventually recorded by other artists such as Patsy Cline, Ricky Nelson, and Johnny Cash. In 1960, he achieved moderate success as a recording artist with the singles “The Storm Has Just Begun” and “Mr. Record Man”. His first major hit came in 1962 with “Funny How Time Slips Away”. This was followed by hits such as “Crazy”, “Hello Walls”, and “Night Life”.

Nelson’s outlaw image was solidified during the 1970s with hits such as “Good Hearted Woman”, “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys”, and “Luckenbach, Texas (Back to the Basics of Love)”. During this time, he also began acting in films such as The Electric Horseman and Honeysuckle Rose. In 1978, he starred alongside Waylon Jennings in The Outlaw Josey Wales. In 1980s and 1990s, Nelson continued releasing successful albums and singles while acting in films such as Red Headed Stranger and The Dukes of Hazzard.

In recent years, Nelson has continued to release albums and tour across the United States. In 2017, he released two albums: God’s Problem Child and Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin. He is currently working on a new album with Merle Haggard’s son Ben Haggard set to be released in 2018.

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton is a legendary figure in country music. She has been writing and performing for over 50 years, and her songs have been recorded by some of the biggest names in the business. Parton has released over 40 albums, and she has won 8 Grammy Awards. She is also a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Parton has had 25 songs reach the top of the country charts, and she is one of the most successful female artists in the history of country music.
