The song, released as the third single from the band’s fourth studio album Superunknown (1994), entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number nine in 1994 and spent seven weeks on the chart. Despite peaking at number three on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and number ten on its Modern Rock Tracks chart, it was not released to rock radio stations as a single. The single’s music video, directed by Peter Christopherson, won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Video in 1995.
