“I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston

“I Will Always Love You” is a song composed and originally performed by American country music artist Dolly Parton. The song was written by Parton in 1974 as a farewell to her one-time partner and mentor of seven years, Porter Wagoner, following Parton’s decision to pursue a solo career. Houston’s cover of the song was commissioned by film director Kevin Costner for inclusion in his film The Bodyguard (1992). In fact, Costner had originally asked Parton to write a song for the film. According to Parton, she turned him down because she believed that nobody would be able to sing it as well as she could.

Parton’s original version of the song was released in 1974 as a single from her album coat of Many Colors. The song became an instant country music classic and one of the most covered songs of all time with versions recorded by artists such as Whitney Houston, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, and many others.

In 2012, “I Will Always Love You” was ranked number four on CMT’s 100 Greatest Songs of Country Music.

“Don’t Take the Girl” by Tim McGraw

The song is about a young boy who falls in love with a girl. The girl’s father does not approve of the relationship, and so the boy is forced to choose between the girl and her father. He chooses the girl, and they run away together.

“Live Like You Were Dying” by Tim McGraw

“Live like you were dying.”

“I went skydiving, I went rocky mountain climbing.”

“I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fumanchu.”

“And I loved deeper, and I spoke sweeter, and I gave forgiveness I’ve been denying.”

“And he said some days there won’t be a song in your heart.”

“Play it anyways.”

“I’ve looked around enough to know that you’re the best thing in life that’s ever happened to me.”

“Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts

“Bless the Broken Road” is a song written in 1994 by Marcus Hummon and recorded that same year by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. In 2004, it was recorded by American country music group Rascal Flatts. It was released in August 2004 as the lead-off single from the album Feels Like Today. The song became the first No. 1 hit for the group and spent five weeks at that position on the Billboard country charts. “Bless the Broken Road” won a Grammy Award for Best Country Song in 2005.

The lyrics tell of a young man who struggles to find his way in life, making many mistakes along the way, but is ultimately led back to the girl he loves whom he had left behind. The opening verse refers to “the blue page of a textbook” and how “the black print never fades.” These lines refer to how even though time has passed, his love for her has not faded.

The song is often mistakenly thought to be written by Bob Dylan, as his name appears on some early versions of the song (most likely due to a clerical error). However, Dylan had nothing to do with its composition.

“I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack

These are the top 10 best country music song lyrics:

“I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack

Don’t forget to be your best
You know I’m always watchin’ you
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those moments
When decision-makers in your life are not sure what to do with themselves and they look to you for guidance… saying ‘What do YOU think?’ And that’s when I hope you get up off your chair and tell them what it is that gives YOU meaning… Tell them what makes YOU happy. Tell them NOT to worry, though it seems at times as if life will defeat us. For in spite of all the heartache and pain, Life IS still good. And each day should be cherished and Capture in a way that make its reminders last forever.”

“You’re Still the One” by Shania Twain

Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me is almost more than I can take
Baby, when you’re near me, and I hear you speak my name
I can touch the sky
I know I’ll be alright
I’m still holding on, to your heart
And I’m still believing that we’re still the one
You’re still the one I run to, the one that I belong to
You’re still the one I want for life

“She’s in Love with the Boy” by Trisha Yearwood

There’s a lotta heartache in this ol’ town
It’s hard to find somebody
That hasn’t been where I’ve been around
And I ain’t gonna lie
I’ve had my share of hard knocks and heartbreaks
But of all the place I’ve ever been
The hardest to find was somebody like me
Till she walked in
She’s in love with the boy
She’s in love with the boy
You can see it in her eyes
When she’s looking at him
She doesn’t know why
But she loves him so
And it hurts so bad to see her cry ‘Cause she’s in love with the boy

“Forever and Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis

“Forever and Ever, Amen” is a song co-written and recorded by American country music artist Randy Travis. It was released in March 1987 as the fourth single from his album Storms of Life. The song was Travis’ fourth number one on the country chart as a solo artist. The single went to number one for one week and spent a total of nineteen weeks within the top 40.

“Go Rest High on That Mountain” by Vince Gill

I know your life on earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren’t afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain

Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a shoutin’
Love for the Father and Son

I can see you in the morning when the firstborn Son shines down
What joy and peace you must have found
All those years without number must have seemed like days to you
Now there’s no more sickness, toil or sadness There’s no more partin’ over there And life everlasting has begun Go rest high on that mountain Top of the world where You belong Go rest high on that mountain And watch over us until we join You
