In no particular order, here are the top 10 best EDM duos that are currently making waves in the music industry.

Daft Punk

Daft Punk is a French electronic music duo formed in 1993 by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. The duo achieved significant popularity in the late 1990s as part of the French house movement and had continuous success in the years following, combining elements of house music with funk, techno, disco, rock and synthpop influences. They are also known for their visual stylization and persona, which featured them wearing robot helmets and glow-in-the-dark costumes.

The Chemical Brothers

The Chemical Brothers are an English electronic music duo composed of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, originating in Manchester in 1989. Along with The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, and other acts, they were pioneer in bringing the big beat genre to the mainstream. In 2019, they received a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for “Galvanize”, making them only the second dance act to win that award.

Justice

French electronic dance music duo Justice is a French electronic music duo consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. The duo is known for its eclectic mix of different styles on their productions and for their visual collaborations with the independent art collective So Me.

Knife Party

Knife Party is an Australian electronic dance music duo consisting of Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, two former members of the drum and bass band Pendulum. The duo was formed in late 2011 and released their debut album, ‘Rage Valley’, in May 2012. Their second album, ‘Abandon Ship’, was released in November 2014.

Flume

Flume is an Australian electronic dance music duo consisting of Harley Streten and Reuben Gray. Their unique blend of house, techno, and trance has won them critical acclaim and a loyal following around the world.

Since forming in 2012, Flume has released two full-length albums, several EPs, and a number of singles. They have also remixed tracks for other artists including Lorde, Disclosure, Sam Smith, and Arcade Fire. In 2016, they won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for their track “Never Be Like You.”

Odesza

Hailing from Seattle, Odesza is the duo of Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight. The pair met while studying at Western Washington University, and they quickly found common ground in their mutual love of electronic music. After graduation, they began working on their first album, Summer’s Gone, which was released in 2012.

Since then, Odesza has gone on to release two more albums, In Return (2014) and A Moment Apart (2017), both of which have been met with critical acclaim. They’ve also toured extensively, playing sold-out shows all over the world. In 2018, they were nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album for A Moment Apart.

Porter Robinson

Porter Robinson is an electronic dance music duo from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, consisting of brothers Porter and Mark Robinson. The duo’s debut album, Worlds, was released in 2014 to critical acclaim.

Madeon

French producer and DJ Hugo Pierre Leclercq, better known by his stage name Madeon, is one half of the electronic dance music duo known as Pixel Couture. Rounding out the duo is London-based artist and producer Dan Slater, who goes by the name Rezzed. The two met online while working on a remix for one of Madeon’s tracks and soon realized they had complementary production styles. They officially formed Pixel Couture in 2019 and have been making waves in the EDM world ever since.

Madeon is best known for his 2011 single “Pop Culture”, which went viral on YouTube and helped launch his career. He has released two studio albums, Adventure (2015) and Good Faith (2019), both of which received critical acclaim. Rezzed is best known for his dark, bass-heavy productions, which have been praised by many of the biggest names in EDM. Together, Madeon and Rezzed are a force to be reckoned with in the world of electronic dance music.

Zeds Dead

Zeds Dead is a Canadian electronic music duo from Toronto, Ontario comprised of Dylan “DC” Mamid (born May 28, 1986) and Zachary “Hooks” Rapp-Rovan (born September 23, 1985). The duo met in 2005 during their first year of college and formed a friendship almost immediately. They began making music together soon after and released their first tracks in 2006. In 2009 they co-founded a weekly dubstep night called BassMentality which quickly became one of Toronto’s most popular underground dance events.
