The Iowa Rock ‘n’ Roll Music Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of rock ‘n’ roll music in Iowa. We were founded in 2001 by a group of music lovers who were concerned that the state’s rich rock ‘n’ roll heritage was in danger of being forgotten.

Since then, we have worked hard to ensure that Iowa’s rock ‘n’ roll history is not only remembered, but celebrated. We have organized and sponsored numerous events, including concerts, film screenings, lectures, and reference materials workshops. We have also provided support to individuals and organizations working to preserve Iowa’s rock ‘n’ roll heritage.

We do this by producing quality events that showcase these music styles and artists; by providing educational opportunities through our events, workshops and seminars; by being a resource for media outlets, schools and others interested in this music; by working with like-minded individuals and organizations; and through our Archives & Museum.

The Iowa Rock ‘n’ Roll Music Association (IRRMA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Iowa’s rock ‘n’ roll heritage. IRRMA’s membership is made up of musicians, music fans, and music industry professionals.

The organization was formed in 2004 by a group of Iowa music enthusiasts who saw the need for an organization to preserve and promote Iowa’s rock ‘n’ roll heritage. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for its overall operation.

The IRRMA Media Committee oversees the Association’s website, social media, e-newsletter, and print newsletter. The Media Committee is also responsible for planning and executing IRRMA’s annual Media Day event.
