R&B

This genre includes soul, funk, disco, hip hop, and rap. While the term “R&B” originally referred to rhythm and blues music, it has come to encompass a wide range of styles. R&B is a form of Black popular music that originated in the 1940s. The term “rhythm and blues” was first used to describe this new style of music in the late 1940s.

The style combined elements of both Jazz and blues. Jazz was a major influence on R&B musicians because it emphasized improvisation and creativity. Blues was also an important influence because it was a type of music that was created by Black people for Black people. R&B became one of the most popular types of music in the United States during the 1950s and 1960s. Many R&B artists achieved mainstream success during this time period.

Today, R&B is still one of the most popular genres of music. It continues to evolve and change with each new generation of artists.

Hip-Hop

Hip-hop is a musical genre that originated in the United States in the 1970s. It is characterized by a stops-and-starts rhythmic style, with an emphasis on rhyming lyrics. Common themes include partying, braggadocio, and social issues. Hip-hop has been praised for its positive social impact, but it has also been criticized for itsnegative portrayal of women and violence.

Pop

The term “pop music” can be used for all kinds of music that was written to be popular. The word “pop music” was first used in 1926, and it simply means “popular music.” It is a type of commercial music which is accessible to everyone.

Pop music is usually based on a light acoustic guitar or an electronic keyboard, and it uses a simple verse-chorus structure. The verses are usually about the subject of the song, and the chorus usually repeats the main melody. Pop songs usually have a positive and upbeat message.

This year’s lineup includes headliners like Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, and Future.

Reading & Leeds Festivals – August 26-28, 2016 – Reading & Leeds, England

The Reading & Leeds Festivals are two of the biggest music events in the United Kingdom. The festivals feature a mix of genres including rock, indie, metalcore, and punk rock. This year’s lineup includes headliners like Biffy Clyro, The 1975 , Kendrick Lamar ,Fall Out Boy , and Panic! at the Disco .

Artist Spotlight

Talented musician, Yanna, has been hard at work in the studio, and has just released her newest project, “New Soul Music for 2016.” Yanna’s sound is a unique blend of Neo-Soul, Jazz, and R&B. With this project, she takes the listener on a journey of self-discovery and healing.

Jazmine Sullivan

Jazmine Sullivan is a talented new artist who is quickly making a name for herself in the soul music world. Hailing from Philadelphia, Sullivan has a unique style that blends classic soul with contemporary R&B. She is currently signed to J Records and her debut album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Since then, Sullivan has continued to produce great music and she is currently working on her third studio album. Her singles “Bust Your Windows” and “Need U Bad” were both huge hits, and she has won several awards for her work, including a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.

Anderson .Paak

This young artist has been making waves in the music industry with his unique style of soulful, R&B infused hip-hop. Hailing from Oxnard, California, Anderson .Paak (born Bryan Anderson) first made a name for himself as a drummer and producer, working with artists like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Kendrick Lamar. He finally stepped into the spotlight himself with his 2016 album Malibu, which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. His follow-up album Oxnard was released in 2018 to critical acclaim, cementing .Paak as one of the most exciting new voices in music today.
