Kendrick Lamar- “Humble”
Kendrick Lamar releases new single “Humble” off of his upcoming album DAMN. This song is a hard-hitting hip hop track with a strong bass line and Lamar’s characteristic flow. The lyrics are introspective, with Lamar reflecting on his success and how it has changed his perspective. “Humble” is sure to be a hit with fans of both Kendrick Lamar and hip hop in general.
Cardi B- “Bodak Yellow”
“Bodak Yellow” is a song by American hip hop recording artist Cardi B. It was written by Cardi B and produced by J. White Did It. The track was released on June 16, 2017, as Cardi B’s commercial debut single. It peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, making her the second female rapper to top the chart with a solo output after Lauryn Hill in 1998, as well as the first rapper of Dominican descent to top the chart.
Migos ft. Lil Uzi Vert- “Bad and Boujee”
The hip hop trio from Atlanta, Georgia dropped their highly anticipated album Culture on January 27th, 2017. The lead single off the album, “Bad and Boujee” features fellow hip hop artist Lil Uzi Vert and quickly topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts, becoming their first number one single.

Country music is a genre of American popular music that originated in the Southern United States in the 1920s. It takes its roots from Western cowboy and folk music. Country music often consists of ballads and dance tunes with generally simple forms, folk lyrics, and harmonies mostly accompanied by string instruments such as banjos, electric and acoustic guitars, fiddles, and mandolins.
Sam Hunt- “Body Like a Back Road”
“Body Like a Back Road” is a song co-written and recorded by American country music singer Sam Hunt. It was released to radio on February 1, 2017 as the lead single from his forthcoming second studio album. The song reached number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, giving Hunt his fifth consecutive number-one hit on that chart.
Thomas Rhett- “Marry Me”
Thomas Rhett’s “Marry Me” is a sentimental ballad that finds the singer ready to take the next step in his relationship. The track, which was co-written by Thomas Rhett, Ashley Gorley and Jesse Frasure, reflects on a past relationship that didn’t work out and how he’s found new love.
“Marry Me” is the lead single from Thomas Rhett’s forthcoming fourth studio album, due out later this year. The album will also feature the recently released tracks “Life Changes” and “Unforgettable.”
Keith Urban- “The Fighter”
Keith Urban has released a brand new song, “The Fighter” featuring Carrie Underwood. The track is the first single off of his forthcoming album, Ripcord. “The Fighter” is a fast-paced, high-energy love song with a catchy beat and country-pop sensibilities. It’s sure to be a hit with fans of both artists.

New music this week features a lot of great hip hop and pop hits. This week’s top hip hop track is “All I Do” by Logic, while the top pop song is “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran. In the hip hop category, we also have new music from Lil Uzi Vert, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Cardi B. As for pop, we have new songs from Bruno Mars, Camila Cabello, and Harry Styles.
Ed Sheeran- “Shape of You”
“Shape of You” is a song by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. It was released as a digital download on 6 January 2017 as one of the double lead singles from his third studio album, ÷ (2017), along with “Castle on the Hill”. The song entered the UK Singles Chart at number one in its first week, becoming Sheeran’s sixth number-one single in Britain and spending 15 non-consecutive weeks atop the chart. In the US, “Shape of You” topped Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for 12 weeks, making it both Sheeran’s first US number one single and his longest-running US top-10 single. As of December 2018, the song has sold 4 million copies in the country.
The song was certified 10× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and has sold over 15 million copies worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time. Internationally, “Shape of You” topped the charts in 34 countries, including Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand and Scotland.
Bruno Mars- “That’s What I Like”
Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” is one of the three songs in contention for this year’s Song of the Year Grammy, and it’s easy to see why. The track, which is up for six awards total, is a sleek and sexy ode to all the things that make a relationship great, from extravagant gifts to simple nights spent at home. It’s one of the catchiest songs Mars has ever released, and its relatable lyrics have resonated with fans all over the world.
The Chainsmokers & Coldplay- “Something Just Like This”
The Chainsmokers are an American electronic dance music duo consisting of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall. They started out by releasing remixes of songs by indie artists. The Chainsmokers’ first album, Bouquet, was released in October 2015 and featured the single “Roses”, which peaked at number six on the US Billboard Hot 100. In 2016, they won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for “Don’t Let Me Down”. Their second album, Collage, was released in November 2016. The lead single, “Closer”, featuring Halsey, topped the charts in several countries including the US and UK. In 2017, they won two Grammy Awards for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Closer” and Best Dance Recording for “Don’t Let Me Down”.
Coldplay are a British rock band formed in London in 1996. The group comprises vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion. Coldplay achieved worldwide fame with the release of their debut album Parachutes (2000), which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. It was followed by A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), X&Y (2005), Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), Mylo Xyloto (2011), Ghost Stories (2014) and A Head Full of Dreams (2015). They have won numerous awards throughout their career, including nine Brit Awards—winning Best British Group three times—seven MTV Video Music Awards—winning Best Rock Video twice—nine Grammy Awards—winning Best New Artist in 2002—three Guinness World Records, and named Global Citizen’s ambassadors on environment change issues.
