The Ultimate Rock Music Bracket: The Underrated

In any given musical genre, there are always underrated bands and artists. Listeners may not have given them a chance because they’re not as popular as other acts, or maybe they just don’t fit into the listeners’ current taste. It can be easy to write these groups off, but sometimes it’s worth giving them a chance. To prove this, we’ve put together the Ultimate Rock Music Bracket: The Underrated Edition.

The goal of this bracket is to find those underrated rock bands and give them the credit they deserve. We’ve scoured the internet and compiled a list of 64 different groups, each falling under the “rock” umbrella in some way. This includes sub-genres like alternative, punk, metal, and more. We then put them head-to-head in a single-elimination tournament until we were left with one champion.

So whether you’re looking for some new music to check out or just want to see which band comes out on top, make sure to follow along with our Ultimate Rock Music Bracket: The Underrated Edition.

The Ultimate Rock Music Bracket: The one-hit wonders

In this bracket, we’re pitting one-hit wonder rock bands against each other to see which one deserves the title of “ultimate.”

For the purposes of this bracket, a one-hit wonder is defined as a band that had only one song that charted on the Billboard Hot 100. In order to be eligible, the song must have been released as a single (no album cuts!), and it must have been the band’s only song to chart. This means that bands who had multiple Hot 100 hits, but only one that made it into the Top 40, are not eligible. For example, Heart’s “Alone” peaked at #1, but since the band also had hits like “What About Love” and “Never,” they’re not considered a one-hit wonder for our purposes.

The Ultimate Rock Music Bracket: The covers

In this cover edition of The Ultimate Rock Music Bracket, we take a look at some of the best cover songs in rock history. From classic tracks like “I Wanna Be Sedated” and “All Along the Watchtower” to modern renditions like “Zombie” and “Seven Nation Army,” these are the covers that stand out from the rest.

The Ultimate Rock Music Bracket: The remixes

As any musician will tell you, the best way to improve a song is to remix it. That’s why we’ve taken 64 of the greatest rock songs of all time and pitted them against each other in a no-holds-barred battle for supremacy. We’ve included classic tracks from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, and Queen, as well as modern day anthems from the Foo Fighters, Muse, and Royal Blood. There can only be one winner, so make sure you vote for your favorite!

The Ultimate Rock Music Bracket: The live performances

The live performances of the competing bands will be the determining factor in this bracket. The competition will be stiff, as all of the bands are known for their excellent live shows. But only one band can be crowned the ultimate rock band, so make sure to tune in to see who comes out on top.
